Unacceptable

I will not accept jobs that pay me as much as my unemployment check! Seriously people. Time is money! So don’t ever settle for less than you’re worth.

I must learn to love the fool in me the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries.

…At one point or another we are all fools! Let’s better be fools in love :)

Dropping the meat

I’ve decided to drop the meat, the eggs, the cheese, and the milk.

If you’re wondering if it’s a new diet I’m following or just the Orthodox Christmas fasting… You are neither right or wrong. First, I would like it to be noted that I’m not too convinced of following strict rules of conduct of any kind.

Here are the facts as I see them:

Religious fasting = the cleansing of the body and the soul

Dietary fasting = detoxification of the body

Dropping the meat = empowering my body, mind and soul

The big Christian Orthodox 40 day Christmas fasting is between 15th November to 24th December. I have tried (really, I have tried) reading different articles, posts, religious forums about this “fasting” thing in order to understand it better. All in no avail. Concluded that religions have the special talent of making the simple complicated and the complicated confusing. At best, all I can say is that I lost my interest after figuring out that: 1. too many technicalities and 2. I don’t agree with all of the theory, thus making me run the other way (or at least read/come up with some other way).

It has been 5 days now that I have not eaten meat, eggs, cheese nor milk. Decided that my body could use a cleaning and a re-charge of batteries.

My actions are not simple. It is quite hard to find a vegetarian alternative to all the good stuff. It is not just a battle of the body, it is one of the mind as well.

The power is in my hands, my mouth, my thoughts.

Dropping the meat is definitely a start.

There’s no excuse to be bored. Sad, yes. Angry, yes. Depressed, yes. Crazy, yes. But there’s no excuse for boredom, ever.

Viggo Mortensen (via incapacityinc)

Especially now! The 21st century, the new age of technology, the time of internet addiction and endless entertainment choices. Yes, I agree, there is no excuse for boredom. Unfortunately, too many of us end up in that self defined status. Shame on us! The problem is not the definition of boredom or the unexcused action; the problem is how we choose to resolve it. By posting your status, your twit, your “crying-out-loud comment”, not only will you still be bored, but now others will join you in your mournful state. If you want a cure. if you want an escape, if you do not want to be bored, then follow my advice. DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING YOU LIKE!
